Police Arrested Accused Who Threatened Police Officers By Pretending To Be Osd Of The Union Home Minister – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

The North Eastern District Police has arrested a fraudster who threatened the police officers by posing as the OSD of the Union Home Minister to get possession of the property in Dayalpur area. Several cases of forgery are already registered against the accused. Mobile phone and SIM card have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused has been identified as Naveen Kumar Singh (43).

The police officer said that on October 9, the police received information about a fight over possession of a property. As soon as the information was received, SI Ravi Poonia reached the spot. Sanjay Kumar and Tohid Malik present there claimed ownership of the property. Tohid could not produce the ownership document. Meanwhile, a person claiming to be the OSD of the Home Minister called and threatened SI Ravi several times on behalf of Tohid. The accused also called Gokalpuri ACP Deepak Chandra. The accused came to Dayalpur police station and threatened the station in-charge.

Investigation revealed that the accused was threatening and pressurizing the police officers by posing as the OSD of the Home Minister. After permission from senior officials, the police registered a case against the accused. Under the leadership of police station in-charge Atul Tyagi, the joint team of the anti-vehicle theft branch of the district started the investigation. Police arrested Naveen Kumar from Noida Sector 51 after identifying him through the mobile number used by the accused.

During interrogation it was revealed that he was not the OSD of the Home Minister but a fraudster. To earn money he started cheating. About two-three years ago, he met Taj Mohammed, who was involved in property grabbing. About 10-15 days ago, Taj Mohammed and Ravi came to him and told that Toheed and he had made forged documents to take possession of a property in Brijpuri, Delhi, but the police were not letting them go inside. Out of greed for money, the accused tried to put pressure on the police officers by posing as the OSD of the Home Minister.

Fraud cases registered against the accused

  • In the year 2024, the accused cheated Rs 2 crore from the complainant Narendra Singh in the name of getting Rajya Sabha membership, a case of fraud was registered against the accused in Kishangarh police station.
  • In the year 2018, Naveen Kumar cheated the complainant Sandeep of lakhs of rupees in the name of getting him a job in ONGC, the crime branch registered a case.
  • In the year 2016, the victims were cheated on the pretext of getting them jobs in ONGC, Dwarka North police station registered a case.
  • Involved in cheating on the pretext of getting job in ONGC, a case was registered in Vigilance police station of Chandigarh on the complaint.
